Now as I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. And if I die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take. But still, if not, then let it be. Take my corpse to Calvary, The proof that even good men die And that even mighty gods will cry.
Death, like sleep, is short to feel, But, unlike sleep, you wake to kneel Before the gates of pearl and gold To hear long tales of sin be told. For me, I see a falling down, Flung hard aside the holy crow
